Sarah Rankin, Chief Financial Officer
Sarah Rankin is Chief Financial Officer for Hip Digital Media, where she is responsible for the company's over-all financial stability, planning and financial operations. Rankin has over 25 years of international and cross-functional business management experience, as well as a successful management consulting track record across multiple industries.
Prior to Hip Digital, Rankin was interim Chief Financial Officer for Fabrik Inc., a leader in innovative storage products. While in this position, Rankin was responsible for all aspects of Finance, Legal and Human Resources, and saw the company successfully through multiple rounds of funding as well as acquisitions. Rankin also oversaw and managed a large working capital line of credit for the company.
Previous to Fabrik, Rankin was Senior Director, Worldwide Operations and Engineering for Service and Warranty operations Maxtor Corporation. While in this position, Rankin was responsible for a $200M annualized budget and was instrumental in architecting and overseeing a $40M Opex cost reduction program. In addition, Rankin has held a number of senior roles across hardware, software and web companies such as Malden Mills (makers of PolartecT), Cambridge Technology Partners and Digital Equipment Corp. Rankin has held P&L management responsibility across global business operations, and managed all aspects of supply chain, manufacturing, logistics and financials for a variety of companies.
Rankin holds an MBA from Dartmouth College (Amos Tuck School of Business), and a BA from Mount Holyoke College. She has also run for public office as a Board of Directors member for a major Bay Area Fire Protection district (Fire, EMT and FEMA). Rankin is also a competitive runner and has captained a team at a National Championship.
